We to things differently at HMYF! Choral day is a chance for choirs to have an invaluable opportunity to perfrom in front of a 'Biff' adjudicator, without having the pressure of 'winning'... everyone is a winner at HMYF!

Meet our adjudicator: David Francis
David Francis maintains parallel careers as performer and educationalist. His harpsichord repertoire encompasses renaissance, baroque, classical and 20th century music as soloist and director.
A leading continuo player, he performs widely as a chamber musician, and with Britain’s leading orchestras and choirs, distinguished soloists and conductors. He has broadcast for the BBC and Classic FM, and recorded for CD and film and is now particularly linked with the period instrument ensembles Manchester Baroque and Baroque in The North.
David’s educational career is bookended by teaching at the Royal Northern College of Music, establishing an Early Music Department; and at The Manchester Grammar School as Head of Academic Music. Currently harpsichord tutor at Manchester University, he also examines for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
